If you are looking for a short-day trip then this is the tour for you! Please note: the Hoover Dam is currently renovating its Visitor Center and guest elevators for four months. This has resulted in a limited power plant tour and the tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. At Grand Canyon Destinations we value our guests’ tour experience so we’ve decided to create a new and temporary tour itinerary for you!
Less than an hour from the famous Las Vegas Strip is one of the world’s greatest man-made marvels, the Hoover Dam. Here’s your chance for a memorable Hoover Dam experience. What sets us apart from other tour companies is our commitment to comfort, convenience, and simply having a great time.

Your itinerary will be emailed to you the night before your scheduled trip. Our luxury tour bus will pick you up from your hotel between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. We provide delicious breakfast snacks and bottled waters as the journey begins. Our experienced and professional tour guides will narrate about the history of Las Vegas, fun facts, and unique stories.

On your way to the Hoover Dam, you’ll pass through Boulder City. Once you arrive your tour will begin by driving across the Dam to an overlook. There you will have the chance to exit our vehicle to take breathtaking photos of the Dam, the Colorado River that connects the states of Nevada and Arizona, and the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.

You’ll also get the chance to walk the Memorial Bridge and photograph the Hoover Dam from another amazing viewpoint. Afterward, there is one more stop, the Lake Mead Visitor Center. You’ll get the chance to check out its book store and new educational and nature gift items. While there, take a relaxing stroll through its cactus garden. Continue to explore inside the Visitor Center to see a full relief map of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and watch an informative video explaining the natural habitat and many wonders. There is a Discovery Museum and a gift shop too!

Among some interesting facts: The Hoover Dam is 726 feet tall, which is more than the Washington Monument and the Luxor Casino; As many as 20,000 vehicles a day drive across the top of the Dam between Nevada and Arizona; and there is so much concrete in the Hoover Dam, you could build a two lane road from Seattle, Washington to Miami, Florida.

Are food and beverages included in the tour?

On our day trip to the Hoover Dam, a light breakfast snack is included. The water it’s on us. All you can drink!

Is a gratuity expected?

Tips are accepted and appreciated for a job well done. We suggest a 10% tip minimum, which is industry standard.

What items should we bring?

Bring your camera to capture and preserve beautiful memories. A government-issued photo ID is required for all flight tours. Other helpful things to bring are beverages with a screw-on cap, sunscreen, sunglasses and cash or credit cards if you’re planning to purchase anything such as souvenirs!

What should we wear?

We recommend comfortable walking shoes, and, for the summer months, wear sunblock and hats for protection. Dressing in layers is also suggested as summer monsoon storms are common. For the winter months, dress in warm clothing.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours from the start of the tour. Cancellations received less than 24 hours from the start of the tour will not be refunded. To be considered for a refund, please email custsvc@grandvegastours.com.

Are there any additional fees or surcharges?

There is no fuel surcharge, and there are no other charges on the day of the tour.
